Mumbai incident which took place on 26 Nov., 2008 was one of the worst attacks on India. It not only took away lives of innocent people and destroyed the economy, but also made fun of its dignity. One of the terrorist, who was caught, has been found to be of Pakistan origin (according to Indian sources), which has resulted in disruption of ongoing peace process among the two nations.
After Mumbai incident, the 59 hours of battle, there is much heat going on between India and Pakistan. Current situation has puzzled everyone and placed in a dilemma, if there will be any war between the two neighbours or not. This apprehensive situation has been existing after the conflict till now. It seems to be much like a cold war which has hurt relationships of India and Pakistan severely. A common man is much confused and even scared, by the clouds of war which have started appearing in the current atmosphere between the two neighbours. But is it really going to happen? I mean to say – Are India and Pakistan really prepared for the war? Are we going to witness the scenario of war in the coming days or months, the witness of human massacre and execution of humanity? Pakistan is under extreme international pressure to act accordingly against all the terrorists and terrorist groups. Banning of the group, Jamaat-ud-daawa, is the biggest example. Pakistan is isolated at international level. India has not provided any evidences (officially) to Pakistan yet, but has tried its best to bulldoze Pakistan, in order to handover the perpetrators to India, which according to Indian sources are based in Pakistan. India is trying its best to pressurize Pakistan to act against the terrorists and hand-over them to India, as “the condition of distrust persists between the two neighbours through all past or future time”. For no revelation, Pakistan has plainly denied to handover them to India. It has led to an episode of war-like situation in the continent. On the other hand, Indian government is under intense public pressure to act against the culprits. People are protesting all over the country. Indian government is obliged to take a strong step to satisfy the nation. But what the after effects of war are going to be should be understood by the people and the governments on both sides of the border. India no doubt should act strongly against those assailants, but initially, need to understand one thing which is the matter of concern. India needs to clean the house from inside. Terrorists, who are lying inside and have made their powerful bases in the country, are creating troubles for India on each and every new day. India need to tackle them. For fighting terrorism, India will have to hunt, arrest and snuff out the terrorists who are lying inside the house. Having a war with Pakistan at such a stage will not be a wise decision. India will have to fight at many fronts – with Pakistani army, with terrorist groups based in Pakistan, some of which are surely going to support Pakistani army in the war, and the terrorists lying inside the country, who can try to turn the situation in their favour. Its not like India can’t tackle those situations, but the huge lose that it will suffer can take many years to compensate. Pakistan too can’t afford to have war with India at such a critical stage when it is suffering of economic crisis at worst and also fighting at Afghanistan border and with the inside elements which are causing harm to Pakistan every day. For instance, the incident of Marriott hotel, Islamabad, which made Pakistan to suffer in every way. And moreover, the daily blasts and terrorist activities it is suffering from have already caused it huge losses and shaken it. Conflict between the democratic government and the army is still going on which has made Pakistan ungovernable upto some extent. So having war with India won’t be wise for Pakistan also. Pakistan which has always been dominated by the army rule, need to make changes in its decision-making, which should be straight away from the government and not under the pressure of army. Pakistan now needs to accept the allegations of the entire world that it is the main source of all terrorist activities. Especially when Pakistan itself is suffering from all that. It should regulate and check the activities of those terrorist groups and strike them out of their holes. It’s the need of the hour, and even in some sense obligatory for Pakistan in order to not to get isolated at international level after Mumbai incident or any other that may occur in nearby future. The irresponsible statements by the politicians of both the countries is heightening the tensions between the two, and even adding more to war hysteria. Pakistani army has alerted security at Rajasthan border as reported by BSF (India), which has led to emergency meetings and counteract by India. Politicians should avoid heated and irresponsible statements full of allegations that are leading to increments in the tensions that have made their place between the two neighbouring countries. India and Pakistan should join hand-in-hand to fight those insane people who are fighting and creating nuisance for everyone on the name of religion and brainwashing a whole lot of youngsters. Instead of blaming eachother or creating disturbance in the relationships through allegations, they should fight together against those negative forces. Both the countries should try to reduce the tensions as the conditions are becoming more palpable day-to-day. War is never the end of the problems, but a starting of new difficulties in the future
